Property analysts expect prices in Latvia, and in its neighbours, Estonia and Lithuania to continue to rise at a fast pace thanks to good performaces from their economies. Slovakia has also cut its taxes and free-market policies and now is also doing well. With Slovakia and Croatia tipped to join the EU in 2009, property prices are bound to rise sharply.
Poland also as a relatively new EU member they will receive billions of euros to spend on their infrastructure which will bring the country up to a good european standard.
Although Spain is suffering from a property market slowdown, now may be one of the best times to buy. The Bahia and North East Coast has some stunning beaches and a balmy tropical climate. The area remains cheap, but it is the centre of Brazil's tourism push. For a traditional holiday let investment, Bahia may be the best opportunity Brazil has to offer.
